Minutes – January 13, 2015
Meeting held in the auditorium of Quad Graphics in the Grande Industrial Park
Officer introductions and reports;
President – Molly Gagne’ opened the meeting at 7:05. Special recognition and congratulations were given to Supervisor Matt Veitch who is now Chairman of the Board of Supervisors. Matt is a member of SWNA and leads our Geyser Trail Committee.
SWNA members were thanked for volunteering to help with two community fundraisers; The Festival of Trees and First Night. Members were reminded that a few free CDTA bus passes are still available for SWNA members.
Vice-President – Candyce Robenstein is also volunteer chairperson/ coordinator for the Festival of Trees. She thanked SWNA members who helped make the event successful. Candy encouraged members to participate in volunteer opportunities throughout our Saratoga community.
Treasurer-Dave Lauzon reported bank accounts as of 12/31/2014.
General fund – $2,852.22. Trail fund – $12,150.17. Total savings is $15,002.39.
No expenses to report.
Corresponding Secretary – Margaret Prough (absent) submitted a report to be read. “Thank you” letters sent to Supervisor Veitch, Deputy Mayor Joe Ogden and Peter Faith from Greenman-Pedersen Engineering for their presentation at the November meeting. A thank you was sent to Mrs. Whitney and Mr. Hendrickson for the cheerful holiday display that decorates the SW neighborhood along Geyser Rd.
Recording Secretary – Palma Burke was thanked for serving as Recording Secretary. She presented the minutes from November. No changes made and minutes were accepted.
Election of Vice-President – Candyce Robenstein was re-elected for another two year term with a single vote representing the membership. The ballot was signed by Palma Burke.

Meeting dates for 2015 announced. March 10, May 12, September 8 and November 10.
Meeting will be at Saratoga Eagle unless notified otherwise.
– Apple Orchard information was passed around to examine. SWNA donation is possible.
– A holiday wreath was placed at the Veterans Memorial Park thanks to the efforts of Russ Lehr, Tom Stanton and Dehn’s Florist.
Michael Emery, Regional Production Support Manager for Quad Graphics
Mike welcomed attendees and gave an overview of what Quad Graphics produces and its positive impact on our local community. He spoke of 800 full time employees, bar-coding, recycling, energy conservation, eco friendly pine needle ink, walking path built and donations of $10 million to our local community. Quad Graphics is the second largest printing company in the country and has over 26,000 employees. They offer career opportunities, training and education. They are currently hiring since business has greatly improved in 2014. The plant in Saratoga Springs serves an 800 mile radius.

Mike led SWNA members on a tour of the production facility, storage facility, and the health and fitness center. Refreshments were served.
